Cleaning out the closet; eBay VS. Craigslist

Let's face it, we all have junk drawers, or places that we store mismatched items or things that we no longer need, but can't throw away because they could be useful. Well, when you finally do decide to do a little spring cleaning, why not post them on eBay or Craigslist! Something that might not be of any use to you may come in handy to someone in your area, or even halfway across the globe! This is a perfect way to get spare cash when you're in a pinch, saving for college, a new laptop, or just want some extra money around come vacation time. Each site is easy to maneuver and get things sold in a window of time. Lets go through a few pros and cons of each site.

eBay:

Pros:
+ If you wanted to get something sold in say, 5 days, you could with eBay's listing options.
+ People love to fight over the auction items, which will make the price spike in your favor.
+ Sell worldwide or nationwide.
+ Safe transactions through Paypal.
Cons:
- After each sale there are fees that will be deducted from the sale price, and with the use of premium features, there could be extra expenses.
- You can't always edit major things once your listing is active without having to delete your listing. Examples: time frame or switching from buy it now to plain auction.
- Not for larger items like couches and china cabinets.
- Seeing as you're not meeting the person you're selling to, there can be complications or fraud.

Craigslist:

Pros:
+ You can sell your large furniture here.
+ You meet face to face with buyers.
+ Cash in hand at time of pickup.
+ No fees!  Craigslist is completely free!

Cons:
- You can only sell locally.
- Buyers can be hard to contact and sometimes might not show up for pickup.
- Strangers in your home (but not in all cases if you wish to meet in a public place)
- Email inbox or phone might blow up with replies (which isn't entirely a bad thing if you need to sell).

Don't be too discouraged by the cons of these sites. I have used both and they can come in handy when you need to get rid of excess clutter. These are just two sites, but you can explore your other options like having a yard sale. Happy selling!

Update

Haven't been posting much at all these days. I do still get mail from Neilson with 5$ enclosed, which is nice. (proof below) I've been so busy with school that I haven't been working my Bing-Swag method either. But, hey, I'm making a come back! Let's spread the word about some great sites and methods, shall we? More updates to come, so stay for a spell.

Payment Update: Swagbucks

Haven't been working too much lately, but I do have another payment update for you guys. I'm still using the Bing Rewards-Swagbucks method and it's been paying off as you can see below:

Got a free Maven Box!

So I was working as usual a month or so back with Swagbucks when I came across an offer for a FREE Maven Box. A Maven Box is a beauty subscription box that you can get over at Julep.com using code: FREEBOX (code could possibly be expired) when you sign-up, these boxes contain $40+ worth of beauty products. Now normally you'd have to pay somewhere around 20$ to get a Maven Box, but this one was FREE, the only thing you had to pay for was shipping, and in my case it was $3! I thought, why not? I signed up and within no time my box had arrived. I was pretty excited about it too!
Inside I got some lip gloss, beach tonic dry oil spray, and some cute buffer pads.  It also came with a card for 50% off my next order!

Good Morning Cash

I woke up this morning and just started doing my Saturday routine: find something to eat, see who's up, and go outside to check the mail. Well, this morning was my lucky morning, I guess, because in my mailbox was a giant letter from "Nielson". What was in the letter? Well, the first thing I saw was five single dollars (5$) and at first I thought there was no way they were real. But when I looked agian, they were entirely legit! Then, still in shock that a company would send me 5$, I read through their pamphlet enclosed with the cash. "You've been selected to complete a survey, (which was enclosed with it) , and we've given you 5$ just for doing it." Wow, what a morning! I'm definitely sticking with Nielson now.

Payment Update: Swagbucks-Bing Rewards Method

I have just recently gotten paid from a method that I use that involves three different websites: Paypal.com, Swagbucks.com, and Bing.com/rewards. I have made lots of cash-outs with the Bing Rewards Program, most being gift cards, and now I'm starting to cash-out with their option for PayPal cash instead. This method is very rewarding and it only takes about 30 minutes, or less, of your time each day. With this method you are GUARANTEED $25 or more per month, unlike those other methods which will get you maybe $5 a month. There is NO COST to me sharing this method with you and I intend to keep it that way for a while. You read that right.. IT'S FREE! My payment proof is posted below. Now, in order to learn this simple method, you need to email me. My email is located in top right side of this blog. Currently, this method is for people who live in the United States only, considering Bing Rewards is for U.S. residents only at the moment. (Hopefully they'll change that! I'd love for more people to be making extra income.)
